I just finished this commission. Believe it or not, this is a Christmas present for the purchaser's parents. I think Christmas is a pretty interesting holiday for some people.

commissioned zombie
This is a commission I just finished this afternoon. I'm afraid it took me longer to get to than I anticipated although I can still get it to my client in time (it's a birthday present!)

I have neglected posting to this blog for too long! These two are a couple of nice kids from school.

ghoul
This is an experimental piece. I painted it on masonite instead of paperboard. The paperboard takes ink a lot better. The ink tends to fish eye on top of the bare masonite. I think the trick is to lay down a layer of matte acrylic medium first as it accepts ink very nicely.

zombie couple
Here's a nice zombie couple that I finished up last week. I'm working hard trying to finish up several commissions. CreepyDrawings.com has become quite busy since Eddie Breen linked to it. I have several drawings that I need to post here as well but I've been unable to do so because my classroom was broken into a few weeks ago and I still haven't gotten my stolen Mac Mini back from the police. There are a few drawings on that hard drive that I don't have anywhere else. I've also been working on a couple of pieces to put up on eBay for cheap, so stay tuned!

Eddie Breen
Eddie Breen is a piggyback artist who sometimes throws zombies into his compositions. His work is funny, thought provoking and always at least a little bit creepy. I think he's doing one of the most creative things in art on the internet today. His site is worth bookmarking.

zombie debutante
I haven't posted new drawings to this blog in a while. This is just one of a few that I've done recently. Unfortunately my classroom was broken into over the weekend and my computer was stolen. The other pictures are all on that hard drive and I've already sent the originals off to their buyers. A suspect has been apprehended (NOT one of my students) and the Mac Mini recovered. Unfortunately it's in an evidence locker at the sheriff's office. I'm in the process of getting it released. I'm hoping all the data is intact.
The back side of my room is equipped with 30+ year old plexiglass windows. Over the weekend someone thought it would be a good idea to start a small fire outside one and try to melt their way in, or maybe it was some sort of heat ray, I really don't know. In any event, the fire/heat ray didn't melt a big enough hole to grant ingress so the miscreant ended up bludgeoning their way in. I assume they left by the door once they had my property in hand.

Sketch Book Page
This is just one of many pieces from my sketch book. It's fun to ink these little doodles. I do a lot of them when I'm in staff meetings and then ink them later.

Valentine's Zombies
I did this drawing for a young lady as a Valentine's Day gift for her boyfriend. I'm not sure real zombies feel much affection for anything other than eating living flesh. I still think it was a touching gesture.

Combat Diaper
This is just a generic monster. I like putting these diaper-like garments on them. In the early sixties artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko would dress their monsters like this.

Zombie Magazine
My students discovered this website the other day. Looks like there's a pretty big community of zombie aficionados in the world.

Zombie Trilogy
My sister got me "David Wellington's Zombie Trilogy" for Christmas. It's well worth reading. Wellington offer's up several interesting twists on the zombie genre.

Nice holiday zombie girl
Well, it looks like the Christmas Holidays are not the busiest of times for zombie drawing artists. however, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to draw this for a very nice young lady that I met online. It doesn't matter what the circumstances are, if you say you met someone "online", it always sounds a bit creepy. Oh well, that's part of the blog title so I'm not too worried.
